Marketing tip of the week 🧠
Marketing tips are often well-known and well-structured pieces of advice that work for a reason: they're proven methods. Yes, it's recommended to find your way around them, but I wonder what else would do the trick.
This is what I rarely hear in marketing: go off the map and into uncharted territory.
In other words... what happens when you've tried everything and still don't get results? Do you just keep repeating, or will you test out something new?
10 unhinged marketing tips that might actually work
The shared magical element and natural consequence of all the points below is: "See what happens". 🔮
- Reach out to a brand (or more) you admire with a collab idea. Don't stop at their marketing person. Feel free to contact the CEO or others in management if you find their contacts.
- Share a random video post on social media (can be faceless). See what happens when you don't over-plan and overthink things.
- If you create physical art, go to a coffee shop, bookstore, or similar, and ask if they're open to exhibiting your art.
- Send an email to a famous artist you've always admired. Tell them why you like them and thank them for inspiring you.
- Put a personal letter in the package of an order you're sending out. Write down where you're at in your life and why this order means a lot to you.
- Contact the agent or agency of a famous person you find sympathetic and arrange it so you can send them one of your works as a gift.
- Write to your repeat customers and ask them if they would give you a positive review to use on your website, webshop, or socials.
- Ask another creator you follow on social media if they would do a collab with you.
- Reach out to a local gallery and ask if they would feature your work either in an exhibition or in the gift shop's art section.
- Talk in a kindergarten, a school, a senior home, a coworking office, or any place that might sound unexpected to you, about being an artist, and bring your artwork with you. Find a new audience and get inspired by talking to people you never thought you'd chat with, as they get to learn about you, too.
Yes. Just like that. All 10 points. Just like that.
Then report back to me, please. I'd like to hear and share your story on thecreatorsdiary.com, and our socials.
See you in the next newsletter,
