Identify the right brand partners
Think about brands and companies whose audience aligns with your products or values. Examples:
- A ceramicist could partner with a coffee roaster to feature handmade mugs
- A candle maker could partner with a wellness or mindfulness company
- An illustrator could team up with a stationery or planner brand
- A polymer clay artist can collaborate with a DIY subscription box
5 simple brand collabs for creators
- Featuring your products in the brand’s newsletter or holiday campaign
- Running giveaways together
- Co-hosting an event or workshop
- Being included in the brand’s webshop as a limited holiday item
- Co-creating a bundle that highlights both of your products
Make the exchange valuable: you provide creativity and unique products, they provide reach and exposure.
Why do brand collabs work for creators, artists, and makers?
- You gain credibility by association
- You show your work in a trusted context
- You get social proof that can make people more likely to buy or follow
- You gain a shortcut to visibility—your work can appear in newsletters, social media posts, or campaigns you couldn’t achieve alone
Reach out to a few brands now and see if they’re interested in a simple, quick collab with you as a holiday campaign!
Creator snippet of the week 📌
The post below announced that Katharine Gray Ceramics will have a Christmas ornament workshop this November at Westwell Vines Vineyard and Vinery, the company with which she collaborates on this.
Katharine brings all the tools and materials, and her knowledge and skills to guide participants, of course, and the vineyard will also provide a glass of their wine for everyone. I think that's a win-win for both partners when it comes to brand building and self-promotion.
To maximise the effect of this brand collab, Katharine will also have a workshop specifically for kids. This is a great example of personalization in marketing.

See you next week,
Petra
